 For every $1 we put into advertising, we expect to get $2 back (or more).

That’s what performance marketing essentially means: Putting money in, and getting more money out.

Optimized media buying is a process of testing what working for your business in a media landscape that’s always evolving. We buy media and then analyze what’s working for your ads, landing pages, and audiences, today.

As a result of increasingly efficient and effective media spend, you can get incremental gains day on day. The data we collect helps us tune in our ads to grow into a much larger ROA percentage over time.

So you may be putting $1 in and getting $2 out right now. But in 3 months you could be putting $1 in and getting $3 out instead.

Digital marketing covers everything that has to do with marketing, such as branding, SEO, and other types of organic traffic.

Performance marketing is therefore a subset of digital marketing. It specifically focuses on ROA’s, the return of your ad spend of your ads. I.e. putting $1 in and getting $2 out (or more).

We cover 7 main channels at the moment: Facebook, Google, Pinterest, TikTok, Snapchat, YouTube and native.

Campaign success can be measured by Cost Per Lead (CPL), Cost Per Acquisition (CPA), or another metric that determines the Return On Investment (ROI). It depends on the nature of your business and what your goals are.

We typically aim for at least a 2:1 return on spend as a baseline. We use this guideline for all our metrics; leads, sales or some other ROI activity.

It usually takes 2-3 months to get great results and start scaling.

We condense a lot of learning into the initial 1-2 months by testing a wide range of landing pages, ads, copy, and so on. From there, we focus on the winners and do more of what’s working to get results.

You most likely need at least a $250k/month marketing budget to make that happen – and that’s assuming a 4:1 return on spend.

A more realistic way to determine your marketing budget is by taking your revenue target and halving it. This means it’s better to be prepared to spend $500k/month to hit 7 figures in revenue every month.

Generally, the more assets and information you can give us, the better. This refers to videos, images, copy, influencer campaigns, branding guidelines, and so on.

We would also like to know what your numbers are and how your funnel converts, because these are very important to your success.

Above them all, our secret sauce is doing the fundamentals right – over and over again, day in day out. Because this consistency is what gets you long-term results, instead of chasing the next silver bullet all the time.
